A beautiful musical game. The music of the brilliant composer and pianist Thelonious Monk revived in an unusual, bizarre, risky, surprising guise with a chromatic harmonica leading the dance. A choice of compositions by Thelonious Monk entrusted to the melodic and persuasive style of the harmonica of Max De Aloe and his quartet, active for 18 years. The Max De Aloe Quartet has its own sound, its own precise stylistic matrix which also emerges predominantly in this project, never seeking a simple cover or homage tout court.
MELODIC MONK is a journey around the music of Thelonious Monk. The project is collected in the CD of the same name released by Barnum for Art in May 2024.
