Christmas 2026 in Pergine: seven festive weekends in the heart of Valsugana
From November 14 to December 27, the historic centre of Pergine Valsugana comes alive with lights, scents and music. Christmas in Pergine is a market, as well as a seven-weekend festival featuring artisans' and hobbyists' stalls, the ‘Piazzetta dei Gusti e dei Sapori’, 9 workshops for families, Saturday show cooking and over 30 free shows and concerts. The grand finale is the New Year’s Eve celebration in the square on 31 December.
You enter from piazza Gavazzi and you walk through the wooden stalls of via Pennella, with artisans, hobbyists and the wooden games of the Pro Loco for adults and children. In piazza Serra you can find the creative heart of the event, with workshops for children and families: from street art to beeswax candles, from festive mugs to Saint Lucy’s biscuits.
In Piazza Municipio, the large illuminated tree serves as the stage for the Saturday show cooking. In the end, Piazza Fruet hosts the ‘Piazzetta dei Gusti e dei Sapori’, featuring Trentino specialities, hot dishes and street food until 9.00 p.m.
Every Saturday at 4.00 p.m., the Cuochi dell’Alleanza prepare a new recipe with a taste: from drinkable strudel to cheese cancederli and the ancient breads of the Mocheni Valley. On Fridays the market rests, but the Piazzetta doesn't: with “Venerdì del gusto” the weekend starts at 3.00 p.mm with a toast.
Free shows and concerts are on the program: gospel, swing and jazz, magicians, jugglers and the Pirofanti’s fire show. There’s also the "Sfilata della Strozega per Santa Lucia", the "Parata della Fata delle Nevi" and Father Christmas in Piazza Municipio on December 19, 20, 23 and 24, with souvenir photos and a present for the children. On the night of December 31, there’ll be 1970s and 1980s disco hits by the Supersonic Band.
