The Peace Pathway
The Trentino Peace Pathway is made of more than 450 km of paths, mountain roads, trenches and routes which connect the Mount Stelvio with the glacier of Marmolada,
along the battle front of the First World War.
The pathway is rich in environmental points of interest, which also have a deep cultural and historical meaning: the right place to devote time to memories, thinking, and meditation. The pathway is signalled all along with signs featuring a yellow dove, and it is subdivided into different tranches:
- From the Gavia Pass to Lardaro
- From Lardaro to Riva del Garda
- From Riva del Garda to Rovereto
- From Rovereto to Lavarone
- From Lavarone to Caoria (entirely crossing Valsugana and Lagorai)
- From Caoria to Marmolada
A normal walker will take up to 28-30 days to complete the route. You can of course choose to only walk a part of it.
This long pathway finished when you cross the far
eastern part of the Lagorai (Colbricon, Paneveggio) till the glacier of
Marmolada.
You can also choose to walk side-routes, in one day, to reach particularly interesting sites, which remind the war.
