Pieve Tesino

The village emerges on the southern slopes of Silana Mount and fans out across the Tesino valley. Summer and winter holyday resort, well-known for being the birthplace of the famous statesman Alcide De Gasperi. Since autumn 2021 it has become a member of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy!

The surrounding area is ideal for excursions and walks of environmental and landscape interest. The granite massif of Cima d’Asta (2847 m) rises majestically to the north of Pieve Tesino and is a popular destination for climbers and mountain lovers who set out along the famous “Alta Via del Granito” (Granite Way).   

For those who wish to immerse themselves in the nature, the "Arboretum of Tesino" is a must-see: plants from all over the world, woods, meadows and the "Giardino D'Europa" that celebrates Alcide De Gasperi's idea of Europe through symbolic reminders such as its very shape that resembles a Parliament.

Sightseeing: The house museum Alcide De Gasperi, the church of Assunta and the church of S. Sebastiano, the beautiful villa Daziaro (private house), the extensions of the golf camp “La farfalla”, the arboretum Tesino, the river park, the Malene valley, the chain of mountain Cima d’Asta.
