Cima D'Asta - Rava Group
From the morphological point of view, the
mountain chain of Lagorai, is marked by the prevailing presence of porphyry and it stretches out till the
group of Cima d’Asta – Cime di Rava.
The mountain chain is the perfect environment for walks, trekking and climbing to discover the untouched nature of the eastern side of
Trentino, which has always been protected by the local peoples living in
Valsugana and Tesino.
From the top of the mountain
Cima D’Asta, at 2806 m, you can view all around the far away alpine tops, including the
Dolomites (UNESCO World Natural Heritage) and the famous
Pale di San Martino. The mountains belonging to the group Cime di Rava are crossed by numerous paths, full of refuges and huts were everybody can find a bit of rest.
The mountain subgroups
Cima d’Asta and Rava, belonging to the
mountain chain of Lagorai, are rich in small Alpine lakes (Costa Brunella, Cima D’Asta and Grande, among the others) Whose fresh and clear waters directly outflow from the high mountain snowdrifts and flow into two dozens of streams.
Lovers of high mountain sports cannot miss the chance to make the best out of the opportunities offered by this majestic mountain chain.
If you like ski mountaineering you can enjoy along various tracks, along the water streams Tolvà and Grigno. If you are more expert you can try the Alta Via del Granito (the High Way of Granite), a 3 day-long, ring-shaped track.
