Passo Brocon
The
Passo Brocon separates and connects the
Tesino plateau and the Vanoi valley, at 1616 m. above the sea level. The pass is very wide and flat for about 4 km. The road reaching the top is full of
motor-bikers and bikers, who face its curves and steep areas, during the summer.
During the summer the
Passo Brocon is an important tourist destination which is attractive above all for the wide range of proposals in terms of trekking and walking tours which will let you discover marvellous scenarios. The “Trodo dei Fiori” (the
Path of Flowers) is a botanic path of incomparable beauty. Another important rout is the Trodo delle Malghe (the
Path of the Malgae).
The silence of these mountain areas highlights the sound of the
cowbells. The cows pasture on these high-mountain meadows from June to September. Their milk is then transformed in
fresh and cured cheese products, produced using the ancient methods and original receipts.
Your
winter holidays will be full of many pleasant activities on the snow:
alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and Nordic skiing. The
ski resort Funivie Lagorai offer further opportunities to have fun with your family:
snow-shoes trips, tracks for bobsledding and sledges.
From the historical viewpoint the pass was in important strategic point during the two world wars, thanks to its position. Today you can still view the signs of the battles: underground bunkers and trenches dag by the
Austrian soldiers.
