The Astronomic Observatory of Celado is owned by the Municipality of Castello Tesino, it is managed by the Association of Astrophiles of Tesino and Valsugana, which organizes guided tours upon booking, every weekend and upon request even on other days. The Observatory is on the Celado plateau, about 1.6 km from the Restaurant Al Cacciatore. The first floor of the Observatory is made up of a classroom with about 30 seats where the guided tours are outlined and presented, and the teaching laboratories are held. Further, the Observatory contains a very well-provided library on Astronomy. The dome of the Observatory is 7 m large and can open and rotate, to allow the ideal pointing on the telescope on a precise star. The main telescope of the Observatory is a reflector with a Newton configuration; its main glass has an 800 mm diameter and a 3200 zoom lens (N800). During the day you can observe the Sun, the Moon, Mercury and Venus. During the night you can observe the most spectacular planets which become visible (the Moon and its planets, open star clusters and globular, nebulas and galaxies). The facility is completely accessible to disabled people.
