Vignola Mining Museum

Town: Vignola Falesina
The Mining Museum is located in Vignola, a village not far from Pergine Valsugana, made possible thanks to the Filò Association, an association created by some young people in 2006 who had the aim of bringing together their ideas and their passions to safeguard the territory from every point of view.

The mines of Vignola are located on the side of Mount Orno where the oldest rocks of the region emerge, the phyllades of the alpine basement that have been raised to the current height of about 2000 meters. Mining activities around Vignola have been known since the Middle Ages and ended in the late 60s.

Inside the Museum, at different times of the year, take place various exhibitions of minerals from different places, however a part will always be dedicated to the mines of Vignola with unique minerals and crystals of various collectors, accompanied by carbide lamps and various equipment used from the Middle Ages to the present day. All enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts will be able to admire the collections of crystals and minerals exhibited in the mine-museum at the typical restaurant Stube Valzurg in the hamlet of Vignola, with free admission (www.stubevalzurg.it)
