Valle dei Mocheni

This valley is surrounded by the mountains, 20 km away from Trento. It is a German kind of linguistic island, still it is more famous because of the breath-taking scenario and the rich colours of nature.
It is a wild and charming environment which you can explore walking through meadows and forests, around the mountain huts, enjoying relaxing walks leading you to the malgae or to refuges, or living the adventure along more difficult trekking paths, looking up to the high mountain tops of the Lagorai mountain chain. 

The Valle die Mòcheni is marked by strong folklore and food & wine traditions, which prove the culture and habits of the population, who has been able to preserve its identity, not only through the traditional events, such as the “Canto della Stella” (the Choir for the Star) during Christmas time and the 
Bètsche, a traditional show staged on the last day of Carnival, but also for their love for the environment and the protection of its historical and cultural heritage. 
The Valle dei Mòcheni will enchant you, literarily: it was indeed the Austrian writer Rober Musil who first defined it as the enchanted valley! The villages of the valley are scattered around on both sides of the valley: on the left side Sant’Orsola Terme and Palù del Fersina, while Frassilongo is on the right side, covering together an area of 51 sq. km
