Castel San Pietro (ruins)

Town: Torcegno

The remains of the manor of Torcegno can be reached, starting from the church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, through a path that leads to the top of Monte Ciolino.

The castle was the site of the jurisdiction of the Lords of San Pietro and was ceased by the Vicenza in the fourteenth century.

Only three strong walls survived the destruction over the centuries (today only two remain), which is why the ruin is known by the inhabitants of the area as Castel Tre Corni.

Some companions of excavations carried out here brought to light objects from the Roman era and traces of pre-romantic civilizations, testifying to the antiquity of the frequentation of the area.
