Tor Quadra (ruins)

Town: Novaledo
It is a very important ancient fortress ("clusa Xichi", chiusa of Sicone of the fourteenth century; Ciusa del Marter on the "imperial road"): two towers erected opposite each other with a drawbridge. The two towers blocked the road, in an obligatory point, between the mountain and the Dead Lake, now dried up.

Coins and other Roman relics were found in the place. According to some, the fortress would have been the rampart of the fortress of Ausugo, later destroyed by the Franks (590). Passed into the power of Siccone di Caldonazzo, the Tor Quadra was dismantled in 1285 by the Vicentini.

A popular tradition tells that, in the Masi area, there was a city called Novaledo, buried under a large landslide detached from Monte Creta.
