Translagorai
The
Translagorai is a multiple-day trekking, a high way
trekking from Panarotta to Passo Rolle.
The trekking is developed on well managed and well signalled set of SAT paths.
You will be surrounded for a few days by untouched pristine nature.
Along the way you will notice many memorials of the
First World War. You can walk this trekking in
both directions.
Most trekkers take 5 days to walk the entire route. Many rest areas and refuges are available along the entire route. You can sleep in the refuges or mountain huts, to avoid to carry to heavy backpacks.
BEST PERIOD: from June to September. If the winter has been rich in rain-and snowfall, it is better to avoid this trekking in early June and late September or take this into account when organizing your equipment. September is still a good month for the trekking, but you may come across snowfall over 2.000 m. The trekking can last 5 or more days, according to the training level of each trekker.
TECHNICAL-PHYSICAL PREPARATION: Translagorai is a challenging trekking; the height difference is over 5.000 m, to be walked in about 40 hours. You must be fit and well trained; you need to calculate the height difference and the weight of your backpack. You must have a good sense of direction and be good at reading maps. Remember to carry enough water, according to your daily needs.
EQUIPMENT-CLOTHING: this trekking is advisable for trekkers with an average -high level of preparation, able to choose the right equipment and clothing for the trekking.
