CHURCH OF SS. MARTINO AND VALENTINO

Town: Scurelle
This medieval church was remodeled in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and during the First World War it suffered serious damage. The main facade, with a tympanum, has a portal of the late seventeenth century.

Note the interesting frescoes dating from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century, both internal and external, among which stands out an elegant San Martino attributable to the so-called Master of Valsugana (1520/30), and a San Cristoforo.

Near the church there must once have been a castle called Castel Nerva, probably destroyed by the Tyroleans in 1365; the church of San Valentino may have been the chapel.
