Easter holidays in Trentino? Come and discover Valsugana!
Christmas with your folks, Easter with whoever you want! Here are 6 tips on how to spend this festivity here with us!
#1 Picnic at the lake
Tired of sitting for hours at the restaurant during the traditional Easter lunch? Why not improvise a picnic at
Lake Caldonazzo? All you need is a blanket and a guitar, great company and lots of food! And for those who are reluctant to lie on the grass, at
Lake Levico you can find gazebos equipped with tables and benches.
We often forget that food tastes even better when eaten in company, perhaps after a game of volleyball in the open air. If the ingredients are of quality and perhaps even from Trentino, it is immediately a feast!
#2 Relaxing by Lake Levico
The frenzy of daily life often leads us to neglect ourselves. It is commonplace to think that it is essential to make the most of every second, even holidays that we fill with duties, such as cleaning the house and seeing relatives, or with activities that do not really satisfy us. What if we spent this Sunday alone with ourselves? A day to ourselves, walking around with our favourite music in our ears (we also have some music-related tips on our
Spotify Channel) or listening to our thoughts or the nature around us.
Then sitting on a bench along Lake Levico, letting the sun kiss us, perhaps reading a good book, observing the mountains that protect the lake. In short, here is a day to embrace ourselves.
#3 Cycling
The heat is back and with it the desire to get out, to see new places. Twenty, helmet, goggles, gloves and off you go, ready to climb into the saddle!
For those who want to challenge themselves, the road that climbs from Levico Terme up to Vetriolo may be a good way to confirm their winter training; while for those who want to spend a few hours pedalling without fatigue, the
Valsugana cycle path is an excellent alternative, not binding thanks to the possible return by train.
#4 Trekking among the Castles of Valsugana
Given the numerous castles in Valsugana, why not visit three of them in one day through a long, but not too demanding trek?
Starting from Borgo Valsugana, just past the Monastery of the Clarisse, you will find the sign ‘Il sentiero dei castelli’ (The path of the castles), which you should follow until you get near
Castel Telvana, which cannot be visited inside. Then, continuing to the junction where there is a capital, turn left and follow the road until you reach the sign for Castel San Pietro. Take the path and in thirty minutes you will reach the crest of Mount Ciolino, where you will find the two surviving walls of the ancient castle. Descend along the forest road to a picnic area. From here, take the Stations of the Cross path with its wood-carved stations. Back up to the hamlet of Parise, take the road towards Castellalto. When you reach the last castle, all that remains is to descend to the hamlet of Belvedere di Telve and from there return to Borgo.
The total itinerary takes six hours. Despite the presence of built-up areas, it is advisable to carry sufficient water and food.
#5 Walk in nature
What better way to spend Easter than in contact with nature? Even more so if you visit our places, rich in history and beauty. Starting from Val di Sella, it is possible both to reach the Hermitage of San Lorenzo, a small church with frescoes from the 13th-16th centuries, and to walk among the works of
Arte Sella.
In Ospedaletto is the Orco Bridge, a natural dolomite arch whose majesty leaves one speechless. It is well worth a visit! For the more experienced, it is possible to lengthen the route and reach the top of Mount Lefre.
The embrasures on Mount Silana, which are well preserved and can be visited, bear witness to the First World War in Valsugana. The view from the embrasures offers a unique panorama of the Pradellano plain. The embrasures are an hour's walk from Pieve Tesino and can be reached via a beautiful path with a short uphill section.
#6 Swimming pool or spa
Have you ever swum in the Borgo Valsugana
aquatic centre or the one in Levico Terme? Why not spend Easter Sunday soaking in the sport pool and whirlpool in the wellness pool, not to forget the large waterslide, suitable for children and adults! Or why not drop by the renovated swimming pool in Pergine Valsugana! Definitely a way to release accumulated tension and take care of both mind and body.
For those in search of pampering and relaxation, a spa is a good alternative. In Valsugana you can find many according to your preferences.
