St. Rocco Church

Town: Pergine Valsugana
The first core of the little church, not any bigger than a kiosk, was built as an act of thanks to Saint Rocco and Saint Sebastian after the outbreak of the plague in 1631 when Pergine was spared from contagion. In 1662 the doctor Carlo Polacco had it expanded and later on, in 1685 had it embellished and restored once again.

The following year it was blessed once again. In 1908 the fresco of the tympanum, which depicts Saint Sebastian (on the right) and Saint Rocco (on the left) was restored by the famous painter Tullio Garbari. Some coats of arms of the Polacco Family are still visible. In 1992 the roof and the external plaster were redone.
