Friday 17 May 2019 at 7.00 pm at the CONTEMPO PROJECT ROOM of the Contempo gallery

in Pergine Valsugana (via Maier 48A) will be inaugurated SUPEREROI / iconographic exercises, the personal exhibition of the young artist FABRIZIO BERTI from Trento, curated by Dora Bulart. Over thirty works will be exhibited - paintings, objects and magnets. An extraordinary collection of the superheroes of our time - the most famous characters, the iconic portraits of modern pop stars and comics. With a very particular and pop-ironic pictorial style, based on the linear simplification of the characters, Berti transforms them into subcultural symbols and icons and makes them recognizable through a meticulous reproduction of identification details. Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, David Bowie, Madona, Catwoman, Diabolik & Eva Kant, Flash, Spiderman, Superman, Wonder Woman and many others come to "Perzenland" and create a new place in the Contempo gallery sacred / profane of fun and artistic exaltation where the essential characters live, sketched in a few lines with bold colors, that to be recognizable just a detail. "I like the stylized line because it is simple and straightforward," explains Fabrizio Berti, "From a sketch, a sign I note on a piece of paper and then elaborate in pen after a meticulous bibliographic search, necessary to study the subject, to grasp the personality, identifying the distinctive trait ”. Visitors to the exhibition will initially be welcomed by "Captain America", a large digital work in the gallery window that covers the venue and creates curiosity. The innovation of the creative and provocative proposal comes from a new production installation by Berti with minimal signs. A series of limited edition artistic magnets, with which we still have an act of the artist's irony on the domain of consumerism and the invasion of tourism production.

"Small works painted with acrylic, large flat backgrounds and bright colors, animated by the great characters of popular culture that this time appear emptied of all their austerity and loaded instead of an unexpected irony. They are as small and familiar as comics, as fun as Keith Haring's works, as popular as the Warhol icons that stand out on handbags and T-shirts. Fabrizio Berti's characters go beyond ideologies and frames to go beyond this eternal dichotomy and dive into the world of cartoons, stereotyped drawings of children with clean and direct traits. Few lines build essential characters and to recognize them just one detail. "
