Museum of the Scarecrows

Town: Roncegno Terme
The House of Scarecrows is a museum built inside a former mill (Mulino Angeli).

In the building is possible to see the scarecrows collected year after year by the photographer Flavio Faganello in the Trentino area, along with numerous objects and their history.

The history of scarecrows has always been linked to the conflict of interest between humans and wild animals. In the museum you can see how man perfected his ability to strike terror towards birds, not only by "deception", and how the birds adapted over time. In addition, in the building, thanks to the knowledge of some carpenters, the grinding organs have been put back into operation.

Here, in fact, flour was produced with two different grinding systems:  stone and the cylinder, very important was the water of the river Brenta as a driving force both for grinding and to elevate flour and corn from one floor to another.

Special explanatory panels illustrate the processing of corn and flour production.
