Sanctuary of the Onea Madonna

Town: Borgo Valsugana

The church was erected in the first half of the seventeenth century in the old Via Imperiale (today via per Roncegno), to glorify the image of the Madonna dell'Aiuto (effigy dating back to the late fifteenth century) always considered miraculous and object of pilgrimages.

Before the construction of the church, it was protected inside a votive shrine; it was later placed on the High Altar, where it is still located today.

The church was designed and built by the local artist Lorenzo Fiorentini both in terms of architecture and interior paintings and frescoes, executed between 1636 and 1639 with the help of his sons.
