Busa Granda Fort
The Busa Granda Stronghold and with its armoured howitzers was built not far from the homonymous mountain peak, as a repleacement to the Colle dell Benne fort in
loc. Compet, above Levico.
The project and the supervision of the construction was entrusted to the Captain Emil Huetter, of the military engineering of Trento; on February 7 1915 he had already submitted the first drawn for the new battery of armoured howitzers.
Since the project was both elaborated as well as carried out by the Captain, it was possible to quickly start the building process
at the beginning of March 1915.
The whole project was finished in as little as three months and a half, so that at the very beginning of the First World War the battery of howitzers was already active and ready to fire.
Renovated in 2016.
The fort can be visited only as part of a guided tour, every Sunday from July 19 to September 13, 2026.
