Belvedere Tower
In the heart of Levico is the scenic Belvedere Tower. Built at the behest of the wealthy Avancini family, a noble Levico family who owned the entire area where the Rectory and Oratory now stand, in the first half of the 19th century, it was conceived as an integral part of the open-air park, in the manner of the romantic garden of the time.
It witnessed the expansion and change of the village during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The tower is octagonal in shape, 18 metres high, with an external spiral stone staircase set into the masonry on which various decorative motifs can be seen.
The building, now part of the Levico panorama, has been ‘adopted’ by the F.A.I.
