Castel Selva (ruins)

Town: Levico Terme
Located above the village of Selva, close to Levico Terme, the castle was built (probably on the rests of some prehistoric constructions) during the 8th century to work as a shelter during the Barbarian Invasions.

Reconstructed during the XV and XVI centuries, it became the residence of the Trento prince-bishops.

In the following centuries the castle changed its owners multiple times and eventually was bought by the Levico municipality in 1799.

Now only the ruins of the old castle can be seen and reached through an easy path starting from the Selva village.
